So you gained some new followers and think “now what? How do I get them to actually become an engaged follower?”. 

Think about it. Those new followers found your account and followed you for a reason. Maybe they liked your mission. Maybe they think your content is helpful. OR maybe they might be a potential customer. Besides those stupid spam accounts. Let’s not get started about that. We are only focused on genuine follows here people. 

Creating conversation with new followers is something we have found extremely beneficial on Instagram. Why? 

• It allows you to acknowledge the fact that they followed you

• Encourages that new follower to want to interact with your content

• It may spark a more in depth conversation 

And don’t get me wrong, followers aren’t everything. They don’t define how successful your account is, but sending them an initial “thank you for the follow” message is one of the many great ways to increase your engagement rate which is a really great factor to measure the success of your account.

For every new follower we receive at Beyond Boss, we send them a message that says “HELLO! Just wanted to send a quick thank you for the follow! Let us know if there is anything we can do you in your career or business! Feel free to join our FREE Facebook group community to support, communicate, and network with other incredible women: (link to Facebook group goes here)”

So, if you don’t have one yet, create a simple message like this to send to all of your new followers. Use this as a template and make it your own OR make it more simple. Let that engagement rate go up and your loyal followers to grow!
