Social media is hard. I get it. You’re probably thinking “Ashley, you are a social media manager, how can social media be hard?”. Just because it’s my job doesn’t mean I think it’s as easy as pie.
Whether you own a business, are an influencer, or just want to generally grow your account, consistency plays a HUGE part in the growth of your Instagram account and the engagement of your followers.
Here are my 3 tips on how you can stay consistent on the gram.
Schedule or plan your content
At Beyond Boss, Caitlin and I have a great system when it comes to planning and scheduling our content for Instagram. She creates the visual content and uploads everything into the Plann app (one of the best and easiest apps to use) and I create captions and schedule all of the content.
Even if you are a one woman show, this tip can easily apply to you. Dedicate time specifically for creating the visuals, writing the captions, and scheduling everything out. If you can dedicate 1-2 days for this every month, it will make it a hell of a lot easier to stay consistent.
Show up
Simply just showing up on Instagram is one of the biggest ways to help you stay consistent. Some of the best ways to do this is…
- Reposting others posts to your story
- Creating interactive stories such as polls and questions to your story
- Liking as well as commenting on accounts you follow
- Replying to all comments on your posts
Let go of perfectionism
I am guilty of this. I wouldn’t want to post because my captions weren’t “perfect”, my photos didn’t have the “perfect” preset, or my feed didn’t look as good as everyone else.
Let. It. Go.
Not every caption is going to be crafted and written perfectly. Not every photo is going to have the best preset.
This is me (nicely) yelling at you to let it go of perfectionism.
Now get out there and schedule your content, show up, and let go of social media perfectionism.
