Self-love is showing yourself kindness, understanding, and care. It is so damn important to show yourself some love even on your worst days to help you learn and grow.
We have all had bad days. And finding ways to make yourself feel a little bit better can be challenging. Here are 3 ways to practice self-love after you’ve had a bad day that I find are the most helpful.
1. Congratulate yourself
Did you get out of bed this morning? What about make yourself breakfast or a cup of coffee? Did you exercise? How about your skincare? Did you do something nice for someone?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, congratulate yourself. Give yourself some grace for
2. Engage in self-care
Self-care is something I put on the back burner quite often.
After a bad day, finding time to take care of yourself is so incredibly important for your mental health and well being.
Some of the things that I find are helpful after a bad day are
- Going to bed a little earlier than normal
- Take a longer shower than normal
- Watch your favorite show/movie
- Do a facemask
- Drink a warm cup of tea
3. Express gratitude
Just because you had a bad day does not mean every part of the day was bad. Before you go to bed, make a gratitude list. Write down everything you are grateful for. This has made it so much easier to find the good, even when you think the whole day is bad.
