Change is something that occurs in everyone’s lives. No matter how big or small, it can be difficult and challenging to overcome.
A few weeks ago, I moved into my new apartment to finish my last full semester of college. Who are my roommates? Me, myself, and I. So you’re telling me I have to cook, watch Netflix, and do homework all alone?! This was something I was not used to…
My first week was very difficult I will admit, until I found peace in the alone time I actually have. I always thought that living alone was seen as lonely, boring, and lame, but realizing how many times I was living at home wished for just a few hours alone makes me think about it in a more positive way.
Here are a few of the things I’ve learned while adjusting to change:
Opportunity for growth – During a change, this is the perfect opportunity for yourself to grow whether it be with your significant other, business or school related, and even personal growth. I have learned so much about myself in the past few weeks including the decisions I make and how I manage my time. Change in life might be more positive than you think and might be necessary for growth.
You are not alone – Everyone you meet is either going through some sort of change or has been through a tough change at some point. Everyone goes through it. I promise you are not the only one.
Your emotions are valid – If you are going through a negative change, you are allowed to cry or feel down, but realize that the change you are going through is for a reason. Everything happens for a reason.
