Self-care Sunday’s are something I have been trying really hard to incorporate into my life recently. No school work. No stress. Just a day to focus on myself and do things that I genuinely enjoy.
How many times do you put off tasks during the week and say “I’ll have time this weekend”? Just because you have the time during the weekend doesn’t mean you should spend it working or completing tasks. And I am 100% guilty of this.
So, what does a self-care Sunday look like for me?
- My alarm is never set. If I skip breakfast, so be it. Clearly I needed some sleep to catch up on which is OK.
- A Starbucks run is a must. Duh.
- Shopping (aka retail therapy). This is one of my favorite things to do on self-care Sunday. I try not to get too carried away, but there is something so comforting about buying a new candle or comfy sweatpants.
- Ordering takeout. As much as I love to cook, it gets exhausting during the week. Sushi and Chipotle are my go-to’s for sure.
- I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour to get my week started on a good note!
- And if I don’t want to leave my house, curling up on the couch with my favorite blanket watching movies and NFL football all day never fails.
Struggling to figure out what a self-care Sunday looks like for you? Here are some ideas:
- Take a long shower or bubble bath
- Read a book
- Watch your favorite movie
- Do a face mask
- Buy yourself flowers
- Organize or clean
- Stay off of social media
Self-care Sundays are so important and can get you prepared and rejuvenated for the week ahead!
