Create your first audience SEGMENT

Go to Audience > Segments > + New Segment. Now name this segment whatever you like (we suggest “Primary List” if this is your first segment!).

Create a FULL PAGE OPT-IN FORM

Using FloDesk, head over to your Forms and “+ New Form”. Choose a FULL PAGE form and design it in a way that gets you excited. Have this form attach to your segment!

Create a welcome WORKFLOW

• Head over to Workflows and select + New Workflow. You can use FloDesks “WELCOME SEQUENCE” template.

• Have the sequence start when someone is added to the segment that we just created.

• Customize for your brand using your logo, colors, etc.
  
• Have your first email be a welcome. and the second email be an introduction to you and your brand. Be sure to set a time delay between emails. The standard on FloDesk is 30 days, but we use 10 days. It is totally up to you depending on your audience.

GROW Your Email List By Creating a LEAD MAGNET

The easiest way to grow your email list is to give your audience something in exchange for their information. This is called a lead magnet. These are typically free downloads, discounts, or trial offers. You can use Canva to create a downloadable PDF that your audience will LOVE.


To get started, follow each of the steps above, but have your first workflow email include the freebie link or attachment. FloDesk makes this super easy! You can attach your file to any button or image by using the link menu and clicking “Attach file”.

The bottomline: do not wait to start and grow an email list. If your social media account disappears, your people are gone. You can take your email list with you wherever you go, and that is a beautiful thing!
