2002 was way ahead of its time with this one, challenging gender roles, cultural expectations, inequality in sports, and stereotypes of women in sports. 19 years later and it still feels like we’re dealing with the same issues. Can we get a remake please?!
2. Legally Blonde
The “dumb” blonde who gets into Harvard Law school just to prove to her ex-boyfriend that she was smart… Only to graduate at the top of her class with a great job and a fiance, while stupid Warner graduate with no job offers and no girlfriend!! Why didn’t this win an Oscar again?
3. Queen of Katwe
An inspiring movie about a 10-year old girl living in poverty in Uganda, helping her single mother care for her siblings and becomes an international chess champion. Yes, please!
4. The Devil Wears Prada
Love her or hate her, you can’t have a list of inspiring movies for women without including Anne Hatheway.’s iconic role in this movie. And the queen herself Meryl Streep?! I don’t trust you if you’ve never seen this movie.
