But every single time we speak with anyone that is running a small business, they stare blankly and say “okay but what do I blog about?”. We’ve done the legwork for you, and I have 2 ways to know what to blog about!
Sign up for this free service that allows you to see what search terms people are using to find your website (especially if you are utilizing an SEO tool like Yoast on your website/blog).
Once you have verified your website, let the data flow for a few weeks/months and then log in to see what your top searched terms are.
Based on our recent top searches, it seems like our best bet would be to share more instagram caption prompts, bring back more influencers for guest blogs or podcast episodes, share more of our favorite motivational or inspiring TikTokers, and our favorite inspiring movies for ambitious women.
Get inspired by your top performing Instagram content
Head to your Instagram analytics. Tap “content you shared” and screen shot the data from the last 90 days of feed posts and reels. You can look at reach and engagement for examples of what resonates with your existing audience.
Based on what we found, we can see that highlights of Woman Owned small businesses, advice to inspire women to find a new career path if that they are not enjoying their jobs, humor and inspiration for working mothers, and our favorite products perform really well.
How do we translate this information into blog posts?

- Advice to inspire women to find a new career path if that they are not enjoying their jobs: we can share resume tips, job hunting tips, and tips to help women budget for quitting their full time jobs, closing their businesses, or pivot into a new industry
- Humor and inspiration for working mothers: we can share resources to help mothers better manage their time, and find the support they need to follow their dreams even with kids at home.
- Our favorite products: I mean duh. Always a favorite!
No matter what you write about on your blog, make sure it is what your audience wants…unless it is just for you, and that is okay too!
