I think we can all admit that self-care is something we put on the back burner. Whether we are moms, business owners, or always on the go, self-care is necessary to keeping ourselves just a little bit more sane. Here are 6 types of self-care that I recommend if you are a busy woman like me:
MORNING ROUTINE – When life gets busy, we always feel like we need to start grinding the second we wake up. Creating a morning routine will get your day started on a positive note. Get out a piece of paper, write down a routine that bets fits you, and tape it to your mirror so you don’t forget. Here are some ideas to help you create your perfect morning self-care routine:
Make your bed
Drink a glass of water
Go to the gym
Sit outside and get some fresh air
Put on your favorite outfit
FIND A HOBBY – Think you’re too old to discover a new hobby? Well, you’re wrong. It’s never too late to find something you enjoy to do in your free time. If you struggle to find something new, I am going to provide you with some ideas below:
Coloring for adults
Painting
Journaling
Cooking
Strength training
Yoga
Scrapbook important events
CALL A LOVED ONE – There have definitely been days where I am so busy I just want to cry. Think about that one person who you can chat with that will make everything better. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, it will give you such a boost in your day.
TREAT YOURSELF – Yeah, I am guilty of this, even when I do the bare minimum. Treating yourself hits different when you find yourself busier than ever. Go get that extra sugary iced coffee. Eat that fast food. End your day with an alcoholic beverage. Don’t feel guilty. You will thank yourself later.
TAKE A BREAK – Sometimes we feel like we don’t have time for a break. When you find the opportunity for a break, take it. Step away from that computer. Or when your child takes a nap, take advantage of that time to do absolutely whatever you want.
INVEST IN GOOD SKINCARE – After a long, busy day, we all need a good skin fix. Keeping your skin clean and hydrated is one of my favorite things to do when winding down after a long day.
