Some days you wake up, confident and self assured, ready to take on the world. And there there are those days. The comparison game hits hard. You look around and you see everyone else winning. They have new, exciting, creative ideas, and you are sitting there, stuck in your rut, wondering how you will ever stop spinning your wheels after _______. Maybe it is the loss of a loved one, a job, a move, a breakup, the birth of a child, relocating, a big fight, a really bad day. Whatever it is, you found your wheels spinning and everything just seems like it is too much. Moving forward feels heavy and hard because EVERYONE ELSE IS AHEAD OF YOU.
There are a million self help books and gurus and women on Instagram telling you to just hustle harder, rest more, meditate more, make a plan, work out, wake up at 5am. But today? Today all of that feels like bullshit. Because you don’t feel like your best self. The comparison game is taking up a ton of space in your head.
I could offer you a million tips and tricks to help, but that is probably not what you need.
Today, this is what you need:
Chin up, buttercup.
Your journey is yours and yours alone. We all start at a different starting line. We all experience different hurdles. We all have our own path to follow.
So chin up. Look forward. Look towards where you want to be. Ignore everyone else’s path. Look towards your dreams with your chin up and your head held high. You are doing amazing, even when things seem impossible, like everyone else is winning.
Their path is not yours, and every little step in that direction is a win.
